Gratitude Log #6: July 2021

🗺️ Learning a New Language

I have started learning German and I am absolutely loving it. I love languages and learning German took me back to the days of my bachelor when I was taking French classes and how I absolutely loved the experience. I would love to go back to an academic setting to learn German but unfortunately, one-third of my day is dedicated to working and the classes available here do not coincide with my free time. Therefore, it is a bit of self-study for me. If you are reading this and happen to be fluent in German or even learning the language, do not hesitate to hit me up since I would absolutely love to have a partner in crime!

🌧️ Rainy Season

Yep! It is the rainy season here. Coming from a sub-tropical country, the rain is a welcomed change. It gives me a break from the sweltering heat of the sun and to enjoy the days more. Most of the time, my allergies peak up during the rainy and winter seasons but the temperatures are cooler than summer so I do not mind a bit. As long as I am not experiencing the scorching heat of the sun, I am gonna absolutely enjoy the season!

🖥️ My Blog

I know that I keep harping about my blog in almost every gratitude post. But this time, I am particularly grateful to be getting back to a steady rhythm again. Somewhere along the way this year, I fell off the consistency wagon and missed my blogging days. Life got hard and I had to deal with some things in my personal life. However, that is not to say that new challenges are not popping up anymore. They are. But I have found my enthusiasm for blogging more again and come back with a twice a week routine. This log can easily top the best 3 decisions in my life and I am not ready to abandon it anytime soon!

📱 My Brand New Kindle

Finally, after 6 years of wanting a Kindle and going back and forth with the decision, I finally conceded and got myself one. I was iffy about spending a bulk of money on it but decided to give myself an early birthday present last week. It has become one of the best things in my life. The return on investment of a Kindle is phenomenal and I have already read 3 books in it over the course of a week! I am enjoying the experience so much and I would like to urge you that if you have the means and love to read, get yourself a Kindle and see how it transforms your reading habit!

📚 More Books

This is related to my previous point. Getting a Kindle has refuelled my love of reading to a whole new level. I finished incredible books last month and the fact that now, I can access them more easily than before is great news for the bibliophile in me. Here’s to reading more books in the month of August!

So, that’s it! July has been a rollercoaster to some extent but finding joy in the smallest of things keep us going. Since we are discussing this topic, what are some of the things you are grateful for, in the month of July?
